Restaurant of The Month Canceled

Due to an unforeseen closure of Pizzeria Uno. There will be no Restaurant of the Month event this January. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your continuing support of our fund raising activities. Please watch this space for the announcement of February's Restaurant of the Month.

Welcome

Welcome to the Highland Goffe's Falls PTA website. The PTA meetings are held each month and we encourage you to become a member.

As parents and teachers, we gather to discuss the issues that need to be addressed to ensure that our children have the best possible schooling environment.

Why should you volunteer and get involved with your child’s experience at school? Research shows that children with involved parents are more likely to:

1. Earn better grades
2. Score higher on tests
3. Pass their classes
4. Attend School regularly
5. Have better social skills
6. Show improved behavior
7. Have a more positive attitude toward school
8. Complete homework assignments
9. Graduate and continue their education beyond high school

If you have not received a volunteer form from your child’s teacher, and you would like to get involved, please call Maria Ross at 264-9780, or send a note into your child’s teacher requesting a volunteer form.

We want you to be informed, so we created this website to keep you updated on what is happening within the PTA. Please check back regularly for the latest news and information about our meetings, fundraisers we may be having, and any other important issues that will be discussed. Attendance

One of our goals this year is to improve attendance and tardies. Please help us by make sure your child is present and on time each day. If your child is sick or absent, please call the school and leave a voicemail message for Mrs. Allen. The school phone number is 624-6334. When your child returns to school, please send a note to his/her teacher. The District requires the parents to send in a note.Also, please try to schedule appointments after 2:35pm. Your students do miss a lot when they leave early. Thank you for your support in this matter.

Popcorn is sold every Wednesday. Sales have already begun. The cost of popcorn will be $0.50 for regular, and $0.75 for caramel, or cheese popcorn. The choice of caramel or cheese rotates week to week and will be posted in the newsletter. If you are interested in helping make or distribute popcorn, please send a note to Mrs. Contic or Mrs. Ross.

Keep an eye out for the next fundraiser going home 10/22. Pies & cookies, delivered by Thanksgiving!!!!

Most of the foods we buy everyday at the grocery store have that tell take little square for Box Tops for education. Cut these out, save them and send them in to earn money for your child’s school.

Save your Capri sun pouches and send them into the school. Each pouch earns the school money, after a little bit of work! Cut the top off, rinse it our real quick and stick it in a re-sealable bag. If you don’t have time, no problem, just toss the empties in a re-sealable bag and send them in with your child, we’ll take care of the rest. Get them in by Oct 31st.

Toner Recycling

Please put your printer toner cartridges outside the office in the blue cardboard box. We will call for pick up when the box is filled.

Lunch & Milk Money

Lunch and milk money are due every Friday for the following week of lunches. Hot lunch is $1.70 per day and milk is $0.45 per day. Milk comes with hot lunch. You can pay with cash or check. Please make checks out to ‘School Food and Nutrition Services.’ When sending in money for lunch, please send it in an envelope with your child’s name, teacher, the amount enclosed, and which days your child wants hot lunch or milk.

Ice cream is sold on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at lunchtime. The cost of ice cream will be $1.00 this year. Ice cream sales will begin soon.
